ENERGY-SAVING AND THERMAL COMFORT FOR HAB ITATIONS IN A TROPICAL CLIMATE

A study of thermal comfort shows the climatic conditions acceptable by a subject living in the tropical zone. For each climatic group of tha t zone, architectural recommendations and the best local materials of construction are given. The limits of those solutions are described an d an exhautive list of complementary active equipment which can be use d is given: equipment, acquisition price, maintenance costs and workin g cost in tropical zone. The economic and ecologic utilities of a sing le piece of equipment as the direct evaporative cooler are underlined.
