Abstract
This paper reviews some popular simulation techniques for designing an d rating chillers. These techniques, the sequential modular approach a nd the simultaneous equation-solving approach, are retrieved from the literature on large-scale problems. It is shown that the simultaneous equation-solving technique is very useful for simulating centrifugal c hillers. A computational algorithm that implements this technique is p resented and it is shown that the algorithm yields fast and accurate c hiller performance calculations.
