Abstract
The macroparasite faunas of four righteye flounder species (flounder P latichthys flesus, witch flounder Glyptocephalus cynoglossus, American plaice Hippoglossoides platessoides and Atlantic halibut Hippoglossus hippoglossus) caught off the northern Norwegian coast at 70-degrees-N , were classified zoogeographically. The parasite faunas of all four h ost species were dominated by boreal parasites. This appears to be the situation with the entire area of distribution of these flatfish spec ies. The relationship between the extension of the range of the host s pecies towards the Arctic and the proportion of parasites belonging to the arctic group is indicated.
