General principles of dissipative quantum mechanics are formulated. A
universal and physically reasonable dissipative analog of the time-dep
endent Schrodinger equation is found. It is demonstrated that for spin
less particles this equation coincides with a special limiting case of
the Doebner-Goldin equations early derived by means of group theoreti
cal methods.
