Abstract
Micromechanisms of fracture and fatigue crack growth resistance in spe cific Ti3Al based and TiAl based intermetallics are reviewed. Effects df test temprature, environment and microstructure on crack growth res istance are considered in detail for several Ti3Al and TiAl based inte rmetallic systems under development. The implications of these studies for the structural reliability of these materials is also addressed b riefly,
