G. Richard et al., X-RAY-ABSORPTION NEAR-EDGE SPECTROSCOPY (XANES) STUDY OF THERMOSTABLEPOLYPHENYLQUINOXALINE (PPQ) POLYMER PRIOR TO CU THIN-FILMS DEPOSITION, Journal de physique. IV, 3(C7), 1993, pp. 789-792
We have studied the properties of untreated and O-2 (or N-2) plasma tr
eated polyphenylquinoxaline (PPQ) polymer surfaces by X-ray absorption
near edge spectroscopy (XANES). Upon comparing, with our previous XPS
results, the measurements performed at the C and N-K edges under norm
al or glancing incidences, it is clear that XANES provides new informa
tion on the electronic properties and on the preferential orientation
of the spin coated polymer film. It is shown, in particular, that the
plasma treatment strongly modifies the antibonding pi(ring)() and pi(
C-H)() resonances.
