SUPRAMOLECULAR STRUCTURES BASED ON PROTEIN CONJUGATES WITH POLYALKYLENE OXIDES - BETA-CYCLODEXTRIN COMPLEXES

The formation of a complex between beta-cyclodextrin and alpha-chymotr ypsin conjugates with two-unit ethylene oxide copolymers with propylen e oxide is described for the first time. The formation of the complex is shown to depend on the mode of distribution of the polymer chains i n the conjugate. The complex, a crystalline water-insoluble precipitat e, was obtained and its stoichiometric composition determined. The alp ha-chymotrypsin conjugate with polyethylene forms a water soluble comp lex with beta-cyclodextrin.
