Abstract
A few novel mono- and di-substituted 1, 6-methano[10]annulenes (4) hav e been synthesised using Wittig-Horner reaction under phase transfer c atalysis starting from cycloheptatriene-1, 6-dialdehyde. The new compo unds have been characterised on the basis of spectroscopic data.
