Conventional model based control strategies for dead-lime dominant pro
cesses require that the static and dynamic response of the process to
its inputs be determined fi-om controlled process perturbation tests w
hich are time consuming and require considerable expertise to conduct.
The control strategy described in this paper automatically adjusts th
e digester cooking model coefficients each time a new K number test re
sult is received, In order to eliminate the necessity for manual deter
mination of the coefficients at regular intervals.
