V. Strehmel et T. Scherzer, STRUCTURAL INVESTIGATION OF EPOXY-AMINE NETWORKS BY MIDINFRARED AND NEAR-INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY, European Polymer Journal, 30(3), 1994, pp. 361-368
The effects of epoxy amine ratio and accelerator concentration on the
chemical structure of networks based on the diglycidylether of bisphen
ol A cured with 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane using imidazole as acceler
ator were investigated. Mid-i.r. spectra of the networks give qualitat
ive information about the chemical structure of the networks. From nea
r-i.r. spectra the content of residual epoxy groups and the concentrat
ion of different amine structures in the networks were calculated. For
quantitative analysis of the primary amine concentration in the netwo
rks a calibration using a model system was necessary. Therefore a mixt
ure of anisole, 1-aminophenyl-3-phenoxy-propan-2-ol and aniline was us
ed.
