The main targets of antimalarial ocular toxicity are the cornea, cilia
ry body and retina. In sixty patients treated with chloroquinine (Niva
quine) 73 % showed keratopathy. The clinical features and clinical cou
rse of this keratopathy and its relationship with retinopathy were des
cribed. In contrast with retinopathy, keratopathy is not contraindicat
ion to antimalarial treatment.
