Abstract
Deterministic chaos was observed in the ac response of the Si thyristo r in relation to its S-shaped negative differential conductivity. Peri od-doubling and period-adding chaotic sequences appeared in the same d evice corresponding to the change of operating parameters. A simple de vice/circuit model reproduced experimental Lorenz plots qualitatively.
