Abstract
This report describes a stringhalt gait abnormality that was diagnosed with intra-articular anesthesia of the right tarsometatarsal and righ t distal intertarsal joints. It was treated successfully (complete res olution of the lameness) with intra-articular corticosteroids in the r ight joints listed above. Clearly this gait abnormality was a function of right tarsal pain. Intra-articular corticosteroids should be consi dered as a possible treatment prior to surgical techniques.
