Gd. Frantz et Aj. Tobin, CELLULAR-DISTRIBUTION OF CALBINDIN D-28K MESSENGER-RNAS IN THE ADULT-MOUSE BRAIN, Journal of neuroscience research, 37(3), 1994, pp. 287-302
We have determined the cellular distribution of calbindin D-28K mRNAs
throughout the mouse brain by in situ hybridization. While these studi
es identified neuronal populations similar to those previously identif
ied in rat brain by immunohistochemistry, some discrepancies exist. Th
ese may derive from species differences or from the immunological cros
s-reactivity of calbindin D-28K antiserum with other proteins. We note
an intriguing association between the distribution of neurons contain
ing calbindin D-28K mRNA and those reported by others to contain the i
nositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (InsP(3)) receptor. (C) 1994 Wiley-Liss, In
