R. Kelley et al., VARICELLA IN CHILDREN WITH PERINATALLY ACQUIRED HUMAN-IMMUNODEFICIENCY-VIRUS INFECTION, The Journal of pediatrics, 124(2), 1994, pp. 271-273
Thirteen children with human immunodeficiency virus infection acquired
perinatally and with varicella were identified. Clinical and epidemio
logic information, including the use of varicella immune globulin and
acyclovir, was obtained and testing for antibodies to varicella-zoster
virus was done. The 13 children infected with human immunodeficiency
virus had an uncomplicated clinical course, and many had a significant
antibody response to varicella-zoster virus.
