Abstract
The results of a numerical study pertaining to the effect of an air ga p on the input impedance and resonance frequency of a cylindrical diel ectric resonator (CDR) antenna operating in the TM(01) mode as a funct ion of dielectric constant are presented. The CDR resides on a conduct ing ground plane and is excited by a coaxial probe through the bottom df the ground plane. Some of the numerical results are validated exper imentally.
