Abstract
Alternate 5' untranslated regions (UTR) of the Ca2+/calmodulin-depende nt kinase-Gr cDNA were identified by sequencing of anchored reverse tr anscription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) products. Three alterna te 5' ends of the mRNA were spliced at the same point to a common 5' U TR. A 3-kb EcoRI-BamHI genomic DNA restriction fragment containing the alternate UTR and 5' flanking sequence was characterized by sequence analysis and identification of several potential transcriptional contr ol elements.
