Extramammary Paget's disease is a malignant skin condition which rarel
y affects the penis and scrotum. Standard treatment consists of wide s
urgical excision in order to avoid local recurrence. A case of extensi
ve extramammary Paget's disease of the penis and scrotum treated with
the Nd:YAG laser is described. Nd:YAG laser therapy, although widely u
sed for penile lesions, has not been previously reported for extramamm
ary Paget's disease. Laser surgery for extramammary Paget's disease ma
y become a useful therapeutic modality in the future because it is rel
atively easy to perform and allows for extension of the surgical field
without excessive loss of tissue.
