Abstract
The performance of a drift chamber based on limited streamer tubes was studied. Results obtained with single tubes and a four-layer prototyp e are presented. Described are the spatial resolutions and drift times for different gases including non-flammable ones, rate capability, ne utron and photon sensitivity, aging, after-pulsing for different catho de materials, magnetic field effects and some other features.
