Abstract
A domain decomposition technique for the numerical solution of one-dim ensional semiconductor device equations is implemented on a CRAY S-MP System 500 Matrix Coprocessor with 28 processing elements. A total wor k expression is constructed for comparison with the actual computing t ime of the parallel technique. We examine the behavior of the numerica l method by using different configurations of the processing elements within the parallel machine. We perform experiments on a number of dev ices including p-n junctions and thyristors.
