Correlated Basis Function theory is used to compute the longitudinal a
nd transverse dynamical spin responses in nuclear matter. The effect o
f the tensor correlations, induced by realistic nucleon-nucleon intera
ctions, is studied in the isoscalar and isovector channels. Their incl
usion brings the values of the ratio between the longitudinal and tran
sverse responses close to unity and to the experimental estimates in m
edium-heavy nuclei.
