Abstract
The present report describes a 27-year-old woman diagnosed with Ann Ar bor stage IE primary malignant lymphoma of the cervix. Radiation thera py was instituted as conventionally advocated at this early stage of t he disease. Despite adequate local tumor response, central nervous sys tem metastasis occurred a few months later. She succumbed to her condi tion 7 months after initial diagnosis. As occult distant foci may not be amenable to detection by available imaging techniques at the time o f initial work-up, combination chemotherapy alone or in conjunction wi th radiation therapy may be the most appropriate first line of therapy in patients with stage IE primary malignant lymphoma of the cervix.
