V. Dolnik, CAPILLARY ZONE ELECTROPHORESIS OF PATHOLOGICAL METABOLITES IN PHENYLKETONURIA, The Journal of microcolumn separations, 6(1), 1994, pp. 63-67
The pathological metabolites (phenylpyruvate, 2-hydroxyphenylacetate,
phenyllactate, and phenylacetate) from urine of phenyllketonuric indiv
iduals were separated by capillary zone electrophoresis within 12 minu
tes. Significant differences in the content of these metabolites in ur
ine can be found ifa healthy man, a phenylketonuric newborn, and a phe
nylketonuric individual on a low-phenylalanine diet are compared.
