LEIOMYOBLASTOMA OF THE STOMACH - DIAGNOSI S AND THERAPY

Leiomyoblastoma is a rare tumour of the stomach which general by devel ops in an exogastric location. We report a case in a do-year-old patie nt who was seen for dark stools and acute anaemia. The tumour was loca ted in the antrum and developed into the endogastric mucosa with ulcer ation. The extemporaneous examination revealed leiomyoblastoma of the stomach. A triangular resection of the antrum was performed. The diagn osis was confirmed by the pathology examination. Based on a review of the literature, we recalled the latest advances in diagnosis and thera py for leiomyoblastoma of the stomach.
