Abstract
Oral treatment of scabies with ivermectin, which is not yet registered for this indication, appears to be an effective, inexpensive treatmen t with negligible side effects. We present the current clinical experi ence in the treatment of scabies with ivermectin as well as the availa ble pharmacological data. For endemic scabies or unreliable or immun-c ompromised patients, ivermectin offers an effective systemic treatment of scabies.
