Cw. Letchford et Jd. Holmes, WIND LOADS ON FREESTANDING WALLS IN TURBULENT BOUNDARY-LAYERS, Journal of wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, 51(1), 1994, pp. 1-27
Pressure measurements on walls immersed in turbulent boundary layer fl
ow from two different wind tunnel facilities are presented and compare
d. A variety of wall configurations, wind directions and shielding arr
angements were studied. Some of this data has been incorporated into c
odes of practice for the design of free-standing walls. Differences in
the most fundamental case, that of a wall completely spanning the win
d tunnel, are attributed to differences between the two wind tunnel fl
ow simulations over the height of the wall.
