Abstract
The long-term patient and graft survivals in renal transplant recipien ts treated with cyclosporin were studied. Only patients whose grafts s urvived for more than 1 year were included. There were 135 cadaveric r enal transplants and 103 live related transplants. No elective transfu sion was given. In the live related group there were only 16% with ide ntical haplotypes to the recipients. The cadaveric group donors were n ot HLA matched with recipients. All kidney grafts were primary grafts except 12 in the cadaveric group. The computed actuarial graft surviva l at 3 and 5 years respectively was 95% and 85% in the cadaveric group and 92% and 70% in the live related group.
