Abstract
The hydrolysis of the linear siloxanes SinOn_1(OCH3)(2n+2) (n=1-3), th e monomeric silylated silanes [(H3C)(3)SiO]Si-n(OCH3)(4_n) (n = 1-3) a nd the cyclic species SInOn(OCH3)(2n)(n = 3, 4) was studied by Si-29 N MR in the absence of a catalyst. The regions of chemical shifts of the ir partial hydrolyzed building units were determined as well as the ra te constants of the single hydrolysis steps on the level of their buil ding units.
