Abstract
This report describes a case of POEMS syndrome with extremely rare com plications of thrombocytopenia and biliverdinaemia. The thrombocytopen ia appeared to be due to immunopathogenesis. Steroid treatment resulte d in complete disappearance of the biliverdinaemia in this patient as well as symptoms and signs of POEMS syndrome, suggesting that the bili verdinaemia was related to POEMS syndrome.
