Abstract
The reaction of diisopropylidenethiirane with Fe2(CO)9 results in the formation of a novel metallathiacyclopentanone 4 in high yield. Unexpe ctedly, 4 is converted into (tetramethylbutadienedithiolato)iron compl ex 7 by a thermal reaction. Both structures were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
