Na2LiP3O9.4H2O corresponds to a new structural arrangement in the fami
ly of cyclotriphosphates. This salt is triclinic, with Z = 2 and the f
ollowing unit-cell dimensions : a = 6.905(2) b = 9.346(3) c = 9.876(2)
angstrom alpha = 95.00(2) beta = 104.36(2) gamma = 107.75(3)degrees T
he atomic arrangement, determined with a set of 3778 independent refle
ctions down to a final R value of 0.019, is mainly characterized by la
rge centrosymmetrical rings built by two P3O9 groups connected by two
LiO4 tetrahedra. The three-dimensional hydrogen-bond scheme is given.
