We describe chemical preparation and crystal structure of an adduct be
tween cesium dihydrogen-diphosphate and telluric acid. CS2H2P2O7.Te(OH
)6 is monoclinic C2/c, with Z = 8 and the following unit-cell dimensio
ns: a = 20.518(7), b = 8.372(3), c = 16.652(6) angstrom, beta = 106.55
(3)degrees. As usual in this type of adduct, the phosphoric anion and
the Te(OH)6 groups coexist as independent units in the atomic arrangem
ent. The acidic diphosphoric anions are interconnected in a three-dime
nsional way by a strong network of hydrogen bonds building large oblon
g channels, in which are located rows of alternating Te(OH)6 groups an
d cesium atoms. The final R value is 0.033 for 5181 independent reflec
tions.
