Abstract
The use of rectangular and triangular basis functions in the method of moments to analyze the problem of scattering of electromagnetic waves by dielectric objects with high dielectric constant (epsilon(r) > 10) leads to convergence problems due to the spurious charges associated with the basis functions. To overcome this problem, solenoidal basis f unctions that eliminate the spurius charges generated by rectangular a nd triangular basis functions have been proposed. In this article we p resent results for the analysis of the scattering of TM waves by a chi ral circular cylinder with the use of the method of moments and soleno idal basis functions.
