TEMPERATURE-MEASUREMENTS IN HIGH-PRESSURE COMBUSTION

We report on a fundamental study of N2 and H-2 CARS thermometry in a h igh-pressure, premixed methane/air flame. Based on CARS spectra of hig h quality, models were developed for spectral shape calculations in or der to determine accurate temperatures. Rotational Raman spectra were used to measure an independent reference temperature. The limits of ap plicability were shown. Single-pulse N2 CARS thermometry on a subscale ramjet combustor with 3 bar pressure inside the combustion chamber wa s performed.
