Abstract
Reported is on the propagation and on the focusing of a 1064 nm 1 ps m ultiterawatt laser pulse in a H-2 gas jet. The focusing is diagnosed b y viewing the second harmonic emission. It is shown that high intensit ies can be maintained in the presence of a high density plasma.
