Abstract
This article offers a review of our understanding of the nature of fai lure during individual psychotherapy when it occurs and the importance of continuity into group psychotherapy when necessary. Experiencing s pace and extensive tolerance in group psychotherapy enlarges the intra psychic and extrapsychic world of patients who could not tolerate inti macy of individual psychotherapy.
