Abstract
Predation experiments in tanks with the two-banded bream fish Diphlodu s vulgaris and the sandhopper Talitrus saltator demonstrated that: 1. some specific behaviours; and 2. crypsis oi the back have an antipreda tor function. They reduced by one-hall the predatory attacks in the wa ter, under artificial conditions.
