Vi. Manovyuvenskii et Sl. Kuznetsov, SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF THIOCARBAMATES AND SELENOCARBAMATES, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 66(1), 1993, pp. 134-141
Conditions have been examined for making thiocarbamates and selenocarb
amates by the reaction of primary amines with carbon monoxide and corr
espondingly with sulfur (in the presence of selenium as catalyst) or w
ith selenium. Schemes are proposed for the catalytic cycles, which inc
lude the formation and transformation of polyselenides in the synthesi
s of selenocarbamates, and also sulfur selenides and selenosulfides in
the synthesis of thiocarbamic acids.
