Abstract
We have studied the rheological properties of moderately concentrated solutions of chitosan in 2% acetic acid at different pH values. We hav e investigated the supermolecular organization of these solutions by p olarized-light scattering. We have demonstrated the existence of assoc iative formations of a fluctuational nature. We have observed microani sotropic order in the associates of macromolecules. We have observed a correlation between the characteristics of the supermolecular structu re of the chitosan solutions and the conformational characteristics of isolated macromolecules.
