A study examined development and testing of laminates as an alternativ
e to the existing poly(urethane) activated carbon foam nonwoven for th
e inner layer of a military battle dress overgarment. The paper discus
ses development of laminates, method for evaluating the resistance of
the activated carbon loaded laminates to penetration by a chlorinated
organic compound, results of a matrix of tests conducted on laminates,
and evaluation of the dynamics of adsorption of an organic vapor on l
aminates.
