An unexpected, extremely rare, alar cartilage tumor in a patient prese
nting for rhinoplasty is described. A large number of patients present
for corrective rhinoplasty. To detect a cartilaginous tumor in one su
ch patient is very unusual. Chondromata of the nose are very rare, mor
e so those arising from the alar cartilages. One such tumor arising fr
om the dome of the right lower lateral alar cartilage is presented.
