Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of the neopentyl complexes of cadmi um (CH3)(3)CH(2)CCdE(2)CNEt(2) (E = S or Se) and the related mixed met al species (CH3)(3)CH(2)CZn(0.5)Cd(0.5)Se(2)CNEt(2) are reported. A si ngle crystal X-ray structure determination on for (CH3)(3)CH(2)CCdSe(2 )CNEt(2); the compound is dimeric. All of the complexes decompose to g ive the corresponding binary or ternary metal chalcogenides.
