Abstract
This article describes clinical trials and presents structural advanta ges and disadvantages, concerns and cautions, and role descriptions of the research administrator and other important officials. A case stud y of a clinical trial is presented, illustrating a negotiation with a pharmaceutical company for sponsorship of a multicenter trial. The fin al section discusses dos and don'ts for clinical trials.
