T. Miyazaki et al., IMPROVED FRAME RATE USING IMAGE INTERPOLATION FOR COLOR-FLOW IMAGING OF THE HEART, Fujitsu Scientific and Technical Journal, 29(4), 1993, pp. 350-356
With conventional ultrasonic color doppler blood flow imaging, there i
s a trade off between the frame rate and the image quality or the disp
lay angle of the image. We have developed an interframe image interpol
ation technique based on an affine transformation which doubles the fr
ame rate with no loss in image quality. Clinical evaluation proved tha
t our method gives good results at a frame rate of 7.5 to 10 frames pe
r second, giving an interpolated frame rate of 15 to 20 frames per sec
ond.
