Abstract
In this paper we study positive steady-state solutions of a reaction-d iffusion model, the Lotka-Volterra competition system, under homogeneo us Dirichlet boundary conditions. We extend previous results on existe nce and nonuniqueness of coexistence solutions to larger areas of para meter space. The techniques we use are multiparameter bifurcation theo ry, variational inequalities, and elliptic theory. (C) 1994 Academic P ress Inc.
