Abstract
Two pentacyclic analogues of the retinoid temarotene (1) have been pre pared. We describe the first palladium-catalyzed coupling of a stannyl ated pyridine with an aromatic triflate and a novel way for the prepar ation of the benzo-[c]-1,8-naphthyridine skeleton.
