Pr. Miller et H. Patel, USING COMPLEX POLYMERIC ESTERS AS MULTIFUNCTIONAL REPLACEMENTS FOR CHLORINE AND OTHER ADDITIVES IN METALWORKING, Lubrication engineering, 53(2), 1997, pp. 31-33
In this paper, the authors discuss how to replace chlorinated additive
s, fatty acid soaps and sulfurized materials in metalworking fluids wi
th complex polymeric esters. Examples of formulations, laboratory test
data and a case history are used to show cost, performance and enviro
nmental advantages to the use of this type of chemistry. The advantage
s of using these esters in industrial lubricants in place of metal-con
taining additives will also be briefly discussed.
