Abstract
A case of a young muscular male presenting in anuric acute renal failu re after cocaine use with a distal obstructive nephropathy by myoglobi n casts is presented. Insights into cocaine metabolism, adverse effect s, and interaction with alcohol, diagnostic considerations, and mechan isms involved in renal damage are addressed.
