Abstract
Patients on long-term dialysis tend to develop amyloidosis derived fro m beta(2)-microglobulin. Serum levels of this protein rise in renal in sufficiency and remain high in patients on dialysis. The distribution of amyloid deposits in such patients as well as tissue diagnosis, immu nohistochemistry, and electron microscopic features are briefly discus sed.
