CARDIAC PARAPROTEIN ASSOCIATED WITH WALDENSTROMS MACROGLOBULINEMIA - A CASE-REPORT

A case of myocardial paraprotein deposition in a patient with Waldenst rom's macroglobulinemia is presented. Routine light microscopy reveale d diffuse widening of interstitial regions by pale eosinophilic materi al that had a grayish cast on trichrome stains and was Congo red negat ive. Immunofluorescence showed strong immunoglobulin M and k light cha in staining around blood vessels but predominantly around myocytes. Ul trastructural examination revealed massive deposition of flocculent el ectron-dense material around myocytes and occasionally around blood ve ssels.
